Iain Michel is Divisional Vice President and General Manager of Connected Products Solutions at PTC. In this role Mr.
Michel builds customer-facing, operationally transformative solutions that incorporate PTC’s industry-leading CAD, PLM,
IoT, and AR technologies. His responsibilities include interacting with and guiding customers to develop, scale, and roll
out high impact solution programs based on their unique operational excellence goals. Mr. Michel brings years of IoT
experience and deep understanding of the broader technology market to focus PTC’s activities towards breakthrough
technology development and collaboration with the ecosystem through partners and industry consortiums.
Experience
Since joining PTC in 2001, Mr. Michel has held senior level positions in business development, corporate development
and strategy. Mr. Michel most recently served as corporate vice president of corporate development for PTC. In this
role, Mr. Michel was responsible for defining strategy and executing plans for enhancing PTC’s growth opportunities
through strategic corporate development, managing mergers and acquisitions, as well as developing worldwide strategic
partnerships and alliances. Mr. Michel led the acquisitions of ThingWorx, Axeda, Coldlight, Kepware, and Vuforia.
Prior to PTC, Mr. Michel held product strategy and business development positions with Ariba, and was a consultant
with The Lucas Group, Booz-Allen & Hamilton, and Accenture. Mr. Michel began his career with General Electric.
Education
Mr. Michel attended Rensselaer Polytechnic Institute, where he earned a Bachelor of Science degree. He also earned a
Master’s degree in Business Administration from the Amos Tuck School at Dartmouth College.
